Community Go Green Fund Provincial

The Community Go Green Fund offers grants for local projects that reduce greenhouse gas (GHG)
emissions. The Community Go Green Fund is part of Ontario's Go Green Plan to fight climate change.

Cool Savings Rebate Program Provincial

The Cool Savings Rebate Program offers residential consumers rebates to replace outdated central heating
and cooling equipment.
  $25 to purchase and install a programmable thermostat;
  $125 to purchase and install a mid or high-efficiency furnace with an Electronically Commutated
Motor (ECM);
  $250 to purchase and install an ENERGY STAR® qualified CAC system, heat pump or ductless split
system; and
  $400 to purchase and install a stand-alone CEE “Tier 2” level central air conditioning system or
ground source heat pump.

ecoENERGY for Buildings and Houses National

The Energy Efficiency Housing Initiative offers a variety of education programs for the residential (&
construction) sector on building new homes that are energy efficient, including guidelines to increase energy
efficiency by 30% compared to Provincial building codes, the EnerGuide rating system, and ENERGY
STAR® for New Homes.

ecoENERGY Retrofit - Homes National

The ecoENERGY Retrofit Homes Program offers grants to owners of single family detached, semi-detached
and low rise multi-unit residential buildings for energy efficiency improvements. The maximum per
building is $5,000 and the total amount available to one individual/entity for eligible properties is $500,000
over the life of the program.
Ontario’s Home Energy Savings Program (HESP) offers matching grants up to $5,000 for energy efficiency
retrofits.

Home Energy Savings Program (HESP) Provincial

The HESP offers home owners rebates for energy audits and retrofits. HESP will reimburse
50% of the cost of a home energy audit up to $150. HESP will also match Natural Resources Canada's
ecoENERGY Retrofit Homes Program for energy efficiency retrofits up to $5,000.

Keep Cool Toronto Hydro Customers

Keep Cool is a seasonal program (weekends in May and June) that offers Toronto Hydro customers a $25
Home Depot gift card in exchange for an old inefficient window or room air conditioner. Check the website

Net Metering Provincial

Ontario’s net metering regulation allows any Ontario customers that generate their own electricity from a
renewable source (wind, water, solar or agricultural biomass) to send their excess electricity to the electrical
grid in exchange for a credit toward their energy costs. This is for equipment of a maximum cumulative
output up to 500 kilowatts in size.

Peaksaver

The Peaksaver program offers a one-time $25 rebate and a programmable thermostat or switch to residents
and small business interested in lowering their summer peak energy use. During peak energy use, your
local distribution/utility company will send a signal to the programmable thermostat that will turn down
your air conditioner by a couple of degrees.

 

Pilot Solar Domestic Hot Water Heating

Toronto Solar Domestic Hot Water Heating Program, open to residents of Riverdale’s Ward 30, offers
incentives for residential solar hot water heating installations.

Programmable Thermostat Rebate Enbridge Gas Customers

Residential Washer Rebate GTA

The Residential Washer Rebate program offers owners and renters of residential properties a $60 rebate
for high-efficiency front-loading washing machines. High-efficiency washing machines require 40% less
energy and 60% less water to operate.

RET Screen International Clean Energy National

The Clean Energy Support Centre offers assistance to help implement renewable energy and
energy efficiency projects. The Centre provides decision-making tools that reduce the costs of prefeasibility
studies; training to analyze technical and financial viability of projects; and software

risk for various projects.

Retail Sales Tax (RST) Exemption on Renewable Energy Systems Provincial

The RST Exemption offers an RST Rebate to homeowners and builders who install qualifying
renewable energy equipment including solar, wind, micro-hydro electric or geothermal systems. RST
